A new kindergarten year has begun
At the end of September, 48 new four-old-old children were admitted to the Adigrat Vision kindergarten.
For just € 30 a month, you can support a child in kindergarten.
Regular meals promote education!
The distribution of two meals a day in the so-called O - classes (pre-school classes) has already proved very successful in the past year:
If the children are given breakfast in the classroom at 8 a.m., they arrive at school on time. A warm, very simple lunch is cooked and distributed at lunchtime.
Adigrat Vision has been running this scheme again since January. The incredible number of 513 pre-school children receive these two meals. The motivation of the families and children to attend school regularly and punctually is extremely high. This in turn acclimatizes the children to the school routine and their willingness and interest in learning increases enormously. In addition, the physical condition of the young pupils naturally improves dramatically.
The mothers often bring younger siblings to school, who then also receive a piece of bread for breakfast.
The Adigrat Vision team in Adigrat is once again doing an incredible job with this project! All employees are helping together, two additional staff have been hired and everyone is working in rotation and full of motivation!
Learning materials for a partner school
After a slightly longer lead time, the materials were handed over to our partner school Mitswae Werki in January, mainly for Biology and Geography lessons. As always, there was a big ceremony!
It took a while for the decisions to be made in Adigrat and also in Munich, as the illustrative material for the lessons is not entirely favourable. But it is in situations like this that we can see how much we all pull together. Our partners in Adigrat are equally interested in finding the best solution and are extremely committed to doing so.
The students at Mitswae Werki School now have a globe, various maps and models of the human body and individual organs to help them understand and learn!
